Soft and Safe...Cotton Insulation
Our cotton insulation is made from 100% recycled materials such as cotton and other natural fibers.
Our cotton insulation is made from trimmings from the Denim manufacturing industry which are usually dumped in landfills. Upon collecting them, the trimmings are cleaned, cut, and
re-fiberized. A fire retardant is added to the fibers before they are combined into cotton batts. Our cotton insulation is not
manufactured using
Formaldehyde or other chemical irritants. |

Advantages of Cotton Insulation
- Made from natural fibers.
- Non-Toxic (no safety equipment needed).
- No itching.
- No formaldehyde off-gassing.
- 10% less sound transmission.
- Better performance at low temperatures and in windy conditions - fiberglass
can lose 35-50% of its R value when the outdoor temperature is 70 degrees
colder than the indoor temperature.
- Same fire performance as fiberglass
- Contains a low toxic boric acid as flame moisture and insect repellent.

Environmental Benefits
Our Cotton insulation is made from all natural
fibers. Using recycled trimmings from the Denim industry, our cotton
insulation is formaldehyde free. Also, unlike fiberglass insulation,
there are no carcinogenic respiratory irritations. Plus, it can be
recycled.
Product Specification
Our cotton insulation has been tested using existing ASTM specification and test methods for batt insulation: ASTM C665, ASTM C518, ASTM E96, ASTM E84, ASTM E970. These test include: Thermal Resistance, Surface Burning Characteristics, Water Vapor, Moisture Vapor Absorption, Odor Emission, Corrosiveness, Fungi Resistance, Starch.
Availability
Cotton Insulation is manufactured in traditional batt
dimensions. Available for both 2" x 4" and 2" x
6" construction. Both stick framing options (2" x
4" and 2" x 6") are available in 16" on center (o.c.)
and 24" oc. All batts are 8' in length. R-values
are available as follows: R=13, for 2" x 4" material and
R=19, for 2" x 6" material.
