Associate Product Manager

Summary of Position
The Associate Product Manager is responsible for ensuring that product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals. This position is primarily responsible for effectively marketing assigned product lines and managing marketing activity in assigned channels.
Reports To: Product Manager. This is an exempt position. Location: Boulder, Colorado
Responsibilities:
· Assist the Product Manager in setting and executing the overall product marketing plan
· Drive product strategy, including all technical, positioning and promotional aspects
· Manage the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and marketing communications to deliver winning products
· Communicate the product line strategy and roadmap for assigned product categories
· Be an expert with respect to the company, its products, competition and customers
· Work closely with the project management and engineering teams during product conception and development
· Manage the marketing mix for assigned product lines to meet revenue and profitability goals
· Drive cross-functional product launches that are timely, accurate, and compelling
· Develop tactical marketing strategies for assigned channels
· Align sales tools and the ideal sales process to the typical buying process
· Deliver regular progress updates to the Product Manager
· Assist sales with key accounts through training, development of presentation materials and, when appropriate, presenting products and strategy to customers
Qualifications:
· 3 or more years experience in product marketing, brand management, or category management
· Desired Education Level: BS/BA degree in Business or Marketing, MBA a plus
· Strong inclination to and experience with Sustainability in business and personal environments
· Experience with all stages of the product lifecycle
· Self-starter with a proven ability to assemble action plans independently and execute them within a cross functional environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent teamwork skills with strong project management capabilities
· Analytical skills with knowledge of how to forecast sales and inventory of new products
· Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Office
· Understanding of and experience with customer / consumer insight data
· Experience in the foodservice and/or disposable tableware market preferred
· Experience with products sold into multi-step distribution channels and national accounts (foodservice a plus)
· Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office, emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
· Attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to excellence
· Ability to multi-task, take risks, propose change, and solve problems creatively
· Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time
