Environmental Leadership Program (ELP)
The Colorado
Environmental Leadership Program is a voluntary program designed to
recognize and reward organizations and businesses that demonstrate
superior environmental performance and, as a result, consistently
operate at a level that goes beyond more compliance with environmental
regulations. Eco-Products was recently elevated from “Bronze Achiever”
status, to “Gold Leader” - currently the highest level of state
recognition possible.

Partners for A Clean Environment (PACE)
The overall goal of the
PACE program is to reduce the use of hazardous materials and the amount
of waste to water, land, and air that results from business, government,
and household activities in Boulder County. In order to meet this goal,
PACE staff identify P2 outreach needs, compile information, and provide
motivation for businesses to achieve emission and waste reductions
beyond compliance levels.

NatureWorks LLC is a joint venture between
Cargill and Teijin Limited of Japan. Dedicated to meeting the world’s
needs today without compromising the earth’s ability to meet the needs
of tomorrow, NatureWorks LLC is the first company to offer a family of
commercially available low carbon footprint polymers derived from
100-percent annually renewable resources with cost and performance that
compete with petroleum-based packaging materials and fibers. This
biopolymer currently uses 65% less fossil fuel resources to produce, and
reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 80-90% compared to traditional
petroleum-based polymers. The company applies its unique technology to
the processing of natural plant sugars to create a proprietary
polylactide biopolymer, NatureWorks® which is then marketed globally as
Ingeo™.

Eco-Cycle
Eco-Cycle is one of the largest non-profit recyclers
in the USA and has an international reputation as a pioneer and
innovator in resource conservation. We were created 30 years ago by
everyday residents who had a passionate belief in conserving our natural
resources. These Eco-Cycle volunteers brought recycling to town in 1976,
making Boulder one of the first 20 communities in the U.S. to offer
curbside recycling. We continue to be driven by these same passions and
innovative actions.
